Not wearing make-up and feeling happy in your own skin

Unfortunately in our society there has developed this unspoken pressure on girls to always look good and be at their best. We are constantly surrounded by females looking amazing, whether that is in magazines, TV adverts, on the internet or films, and it had produced this idea that girls should always look like that, and if they don't, then it's a bad thing. I'm a strong believer that you shouldn't wear make up for anyone else except yourself, whether that be because you want to look nice, want to impress someone (for yourself) or just because you like wearing it. If you don't feel like wearing it that day, then don't. Or if you really can't be seen without it, then wear less. There is no set amount of make up, no routine or set instructions about how your should wear make up or how your face is supposed to look.

Today for instance, I can't be bothered. I'm having the mother of all lazy days, and it is damn nice.
I've popped to the shops, gone to the post office and now I'm back at home writing this. For a split second before I went out, I considered whether I should put any make up on, as if it would make a difference to anybody else's day, and then I realised how silly that is. People aren't going to judge me because I'm a bit shiny and my eyes don't stand out. because it doesn't matter!
This right now, is who I am, my natural face. And I should be very proud of it. I shouldn't have to feel like I need to cover up or improve on it everyday, and neither should you. If you want to, that's fine, but don't feel like you have to.
sometimes it's just nice to be able to not worry about whether your make up has smudged, if you need to reapply powder or, most importantly you can rub your eyes without worrying about mascara getting everywhereeeee

I understand that this might be hard for some people who are insecure about their skin, or who are used to wearing make up on a daily basis, but just try it. Go to the shops without any on, even with some sunnies to hide your eyes if you want to. And you will realise how it is basically no different to if you spent the extra time to apply a full face before you left. Because if you don't care, and you are proud in your own skin, no one else will care either.
